In the mid to late 1980s, when most of these estates were built, Charles Church used a relatively small number of designs. Some of the larger 3 Bed and 4 Bed detached designs are listed below but can you help us complete this list? We need to know more about the link-detached and maisonette designs.
- Campbell
- Elizabethan (and Elizabethan II)
- Hatfield
- Lyndhurst
- Tudor
Other designs that are sometimes mentioned include Gresham, Frensham, Warwick and Sinclaire but are these more recent designs?
A customer has just told me about your site.
Thank you for putting us on it - we do enjoy a lot of repeat business for CC houses, mostly as additions or complete replacements because the Gainsborough product rarely breaks.
Please feel free to give our web address which has details of our new Reading branch.

Have just moved into Heywood Drive, Bagshot, Charles Church houses built in 1995. Originally the road was to be called Pennyhill Place. House types appear to be Elizabethan II, Porchester, Kingsfold, Rosewood, Churchill, Loxwood found on formation gained from the solicitor who found the street map with the house designs with initials to house types.
First impressions are that there is little sound insulation!!! And yes, it's a Glow-worm boiler.

We have lived in an Warwick II and a Marlborough in Goldsworth Park, Woking.
There are also Essex IIs and Oakleys amongst others with 169 properties in the 2 roads.
Ironically we're going to view a Sussex design in Camberley....

I've lived in several Charles Church houses on both Snows Ride and the original Red Road, Lightwater Estate. I remember the Byron (turn up roof - white columns - same layout at Lyndhurst), Allingham, Stratford (like the Elizabethan but with tiles) and Stratford II. There was also a Midhurst type - like the Lyndhurst but with a slightly different study layout.
Hope that helps.

We moved into acharles Chrch "Regent" 4 bed detached in 1983 on the Snows Ride estate. This estate was built c1976, and I believe one of CC's earliest. The build quality wasnt as good as the design suggested, however the house was sound. One issue with houses on this estate is the lack of insulating material. We found this house to be cold and had the walls filled with a proprietry insulation which was a great improvement. I have been informed that the internal block wall constuction is not of Thermalite blocks or similar and therefore these houses are colder than necesary. We now live in an Elisabethan on the same estate.

We moved from a Charles Church estate in Frimley Green to a new 4 bedroom detached Marlborough on Heath Park, Sandhurst in 1982. The Marlborough was a white painted 'Georgian' style house.

We moved into a Charles Church Chawton - 5 bed detatched house on the Elvetham Heath development built in 2001. Other designs in our road are the Blenheim, (L shaped 5 bed), Rochester (5 bed tudored front), and Greyshot (4 bed symetrical cottage style). They built a one off Greyshot Manor which was the Greyshot but with a bonus room in the loft.

No human relation gives one possession in another...every two souls are absolutely different. In friendship and in love, the two side by side raise hands together to find what one cannot reach alone. Do you agree?
